Opinion: Durham's Probe is Our Last Chance to Fix This
Our government is corrupt. Now it's nullified our vote. Durham has the last chance to right the ship peacefully.
This is a continuation of the topic begun in: “Looks Like Showtime For Big John Durham”
The Stakes Are High
The U.S. federal government is thoroughly corrupt…possibly beyond repair. But corruption is nothing new. At some point in their lives most people have been faced with a choice between honor and profit. Even America's most vaunted founding fathers had temptations to overcome. We know that Aaron Burr and Benidict Arnold failed their tests of character. None of us know how many others may have considered looking out for themselves a bit.
The very existence of checks and balances in the federal government is a testiment to the architects’ keen awareness that men are not angels.
The difficult state v state negotiations that shaped the final Constitution owed in huge part to the financial concerns of each state. To what degree did th’ose states official demands also coinside with interests of the representatives.
Men and women may aspire to the noblest ends, but we are imperfect beings and gray areas do blur lines between self interest and the country’s interests. The representatives we send to Washington today find themselves plunked down with a portion of power that wealthy and cunning individuals wish to control. Some will compromise their virtue, others will not. The problem is not the corruption, the problem is that those meant to identify and punish the corruption have themselves been corrupted.
That is not a tenable situation for we, The People and unless someone can intercede to change that dynamic this federal government will be an all-but-useless servant now and a tyranical task master soon.
Fortunately, through the grace of God (and some brilliant manuvering by the Trump team) John Durham remains in our service and is charged with identifying and prosecuting; not only those who are corrupt…and not only those permitting that corruption but those also who have plotted against and acted to destroy our duly elected reformer.
Mr. Durham must complete that mission while a stubborn skeleton of law and order still exists. Enough patriots remain in law enforcement, the judiciary and congress to wage this one last desperate battle for our birthright.
But there are also minions about, they're hid in a thousand places with caches of authority sufficent for sabatage of the best laid plans. They are practiced at their dirty crafts and they are highly motivated to see that John Durham fails.
If they accomplish that assignment there will be no next chance to right this goverment from within and eventually we will live under its tyranny or we will be compelled to revolt against its forces.
Neither option will be pretty.
